The Methow River Fly Shop is more than a conventional fly shop. Due to our rural location and to provide complete support for our local lakes, the Methow River and Columbia River spin gear fishers, the Fly Shop has grown to accomodate all local fishing.

We now carry lures (Dick Nites, Kastmaster, Wedding Ring, Aerojig, Mack's), spin rods, line, hooks, weights, floats, nets, waders, wade boots, power bait and frozen shrimp, frozen herring, maggots, live worms, jigs, bobbers.....

We stock hundreds of fly patterns from Montana Fly, Solitude, Spirit River and Idylwilde that have been selected one by one sepcific for the Methow River's trout and steelhead fishing seasons. In addition to our incredible fly patterns, we carry numerous products to further support fly fishers and spin gear fishers alike. TFO and Redington Fly rods and reels, RIO and Scientific Anglers line backing, fly line, leader and tippet. AMBUSH FLY LINE

BRAND NEW on the market and in the Fly Shop. Garry Sandstrom (ex-Morning Hatch Fly Shop owner in Tacoma) has designed a new fly line, produced by Royal Wolff Products (world leader in lines, rods and flies), simply called "Ambush". Packaged as the Triangle Taper Ambush, this revolutionary design has pro guides and shops raving. We took this line out on the Methow River yesterday and loved it. So much so, we bought sizes 6, 7, and 8 right on the spot. They are now in the shop.

Winner of the coveted Kudo Award, the Triangle Taper offers the greatest delicacy of any fly line. The Triangle Taper is a continuous forward taper in the head of the line, the first 27 to 40 feet, depending on the application. This provides the most efficient transfer of casting energy as it unrolls because the heavier line is constantly turning over lighter line. The heaviest part of the line is always fartherest from the fish and the lightest part presents the fly with minimum disturbance. Ideal for roll casting, mending and distance. This design also gives you a more delicate presentation because the weight is away from the fly. It is also the finest roll casting line for up to 60' casts. The combination of a long weighted section and a light running line make the Triangle Taper cast like a shooting head for distance.

A perfect line for the nymph fisherman who likes weighted line to get the flies down quickly and dryfly fisherman will love the unique abilities this line provides for spots requiring short casts. A fantastic line!!!.
